BEHIND THE SCENES
July 2021, Dallas, Oregon
The wonderful craziness of dog training.
As a dog trainer for over ten years, I still get the gitty feeling of watching a dog and owner grow together.
Having most of my experience in service dogs, search and rescue, and obedience, there is no greater joy for me as a trainer than watching my clients succeed.
Summer of 2000, Family Cabin in Trapper Creek Wilderness, Oregon
There's not been one year of my life that an animal wasn't apart of the household.
Bunnies, cattle, dogs, horses, cats and pigs were all wonderful pets to call home.
Summer of 2010, Saying goodbye to Lady, Albany, Oregon
I was drawn to animals in a way I couldn't explain. They somehow understood me and made me happy to be home.
In turn, I would spend my summers outside with all the woodland animals I could find.

By the time I was in middle school, I decided to train my first dog, Coco. She had no prior training and needed it too.
I figured where best to start than with my own girl.

Overtime, and after many hours reading books on the subject, I had trained her to climb my bunkbed stairs, track down each family member, find her missing toys, and sing.

November 2016, Search and Rescue Deployment, Crystal Mountain, Washington
By the time I had graduated high school, I had rescued and trained dozens of dogs.
I began taking focus into other realms of the pet industry such as grooming and veterinary work.
After getting married and moving from 4 pets to non, I decided to volunteer for the Puget Sound K9 Search Dogs in order to get out in the woods and learn some training too.
Soon, I rescued Trooper, an American Bulldog x Pitbull. He had a traumatic past to say the least and ended up needing over $2000 of dog training so he could be mildly comfortable with other dogs.
Yet, after 5 horrific attacks made by Trooper, I was tired of being scared of what my dog could do and took his training into my own hands.

I would soon welcome Satine, my Clumber Spaniel into my life, and allow Trooper to continue with my now ex-husband.
Yet, this was really where my career was born and I embraced the skills and experience I had to offer.
